About

  • The Premier Division is invite-only and we’ll be coordinating this in the New Year via your Student Reps.
  • Full national broadcasts (Mon–Thu), LAN National Finals in May, and recognition as the university’s top team. The focus is high performance, visibility, and varsity-level standards.

Rules

Format

  • Group stage:
    • The regular season will use a round-robin league format.
  • Bracket stage:
    • The top teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.

  • Check-in period: Teams have a 15-minute grace period to be ready for their match. Any team not ready after 15 minutes will forfeit the match, unless an exception is granted by an admin.
  • Team size: 5vs5. Each Premier Series team may use a one-time emergency substitute during the season.
  • Max rounds: 12 rounds.
  • Anti Cheat: VAC.

Prize Pool

The top teams based on their scoring across Winter / Spring events will qualify for the national semi finals, which ends up in a LAN grand finals planned for May 2026. The prizes will only be awarded to the national finalists.

The points are awarded as follows:

  • Group Stage Wins: Each win in the group stage secures 1 point.
  • 5th to 8th Place Finish: Teams finishing in these positions will also earn 1 point, recognizing their advancement in the competition.
  • 4th Place Finish: Achieving the 4th place position will grant a team 2 points.
  • 3rd Place Finish: A commendable 3rd place finish is rewarded with 3 points.
  • 2nd Place Finish: The runners-up will be awarded 4 points, highlighting their near victory.
  • 1st Place Finish: The champions of each title will earn the highest reward of 5 points, marking their triumph in the challenge.
  • Points would contribute to qualification for Ireland Esports Collegiate 2025/26 Premier National Finals.

* A third place game was originally due to be played as different points were equally allocated for 3rd / 4th (60 / 40 points respectively). However this could not take place due to scheduling issues so the points were evenly allocated between these teams with 50 each.

Prize points are based on defined points per finishing position up to 8th place as of 03/01/26.[1]
